Chaise lounge comes from the French chaises longues or, literal-ly, 'long chair.' Freud's couch, was normally covered by an oriental rug. The couch was short, so that the pa-tient would not lie horizontally, but with the head high, supported by several pillows. The couch helps one relax, facilitating the emer-gence of demons from the recesses of the uncon-scious. According to Freud's wife, the couch was given to Freud by a grateful patient, a Mme. Benvenisti.

Title: Hello Dr. Freud
This is just so funny. I can fire my therapist. Well maybe not yet. I can also give this to him! A great gift. I'm still laughing
