Title: cool idea, but don't buy
Dec 26, 2012
Again great concept, BUT don't even think about putting the mug near warm/hot water when you wash it. The lettering comes off way too easily to be practical. Not satisfied.

UPG RESPONSE: The letters should NOT come off that easily. You must have a defective mug. Email us at sales@philosophersguild.com for a replacement.

Title: Love this mug!
Dec 4, 2012
I received this mug as a gift and I love it! I am an attorney and I give these out as gifts every year. Mine recently went through the dishwasher by accident, so I will be ordering another. Great gift idea for those in the legal field!

I think the mug is definitely neat and love the concept. However, I've only used it twice and it now has a crack going down the side. Water leaks out and the names of some of the cases have begun to smudge off. I've only had the mug for 3 weeks. Great concept, but terrible durability. It is now a pen holder on my desk which takes away from the cool of the mug changing colors.

UPG RESPONSE: Hi Katie - our mugs should definitely be durable enough to last more than three weeks. Send us an email at sales@philosophersguild.com and we can send you a replacement.

Title: Read the small print...
Jun 18, 2012
Read the directions (VERY small enclosure...easy to miss seeing it in the box); you CANNOT dish-wash this cup and barely can wash it in hot water...lettering just washes off. Surely this company could do better...other similar mugs I have ordered did not have this problem.

UPG RESPONSE: Our apologies. We do state on the mug box, on an insert placed in the mug, on our website, and in our catalog that the disappearing mugs are not dishwasher safe. We haven't been able to find other color-changing mugs on the market that can really withstand the dishwasher.

Title: A fine decision
For the body of this review I'd like to consider a scenario: as an enterprising young businessperson of either gender you start your morning by pouring a finely brewed concoction of whiskey and coffee into your favorite mug only to realize how useless your mug is! It doesn't entertain, doesn't change colors, doesn't make things disappear...how worthless. Instead consider this fine mug of excellent quality and great entertainment value with the added benefit of educational reading to wake you up in the morning.

Title: Lest we forget
What a great recall tool! How many of these decisions will stand the test of time? I fear that American jurisprudence is being corrupted by politics.

Title: LSAT brush up!
What better gift for a current or prospective law student? A study in the vagaries of the law and way better than a star____ mug. This will be a gift to my nephew currently ensconced in those ivy walls. We'll see what he thinks...

Title: Great Gift For a Lawyer!
My son-in-law, a corporate attorney in Texas, requested this mug as a X-mas gift, but it didn't arrive until mid-January. Fortunately, he (as well as us) are very patient and once received, he LOVED it!

Title: Room for Improvement
I first saw this fun and utile mug in your ad in The Nation. I couldn't reach anyone through the number listed in the ad, but I left a message on your answering machine (Note: Your "Nobody's here!" message was cute, sassy, and appreciated!) but I didn't get a call back. Only through my own diligence did I find a way to order three mugs: one for me, one for a colleague, and one for a 1st year law student who is my house/dogsitter. (She didn't quite "get it," but she will. I told her not to take it into a final in any class over the next two years.) So my overall comment: Return your phone calls, and keep the great products comin'!

Title: Great Gift for Fellow Plaintiffs (Maybe Defendants
It really does work beautifully. I did give it to a fellow plaintiff in a Constitution case to thank her for all her work. Give it to your history major and law school friends; maybe they'll look a few things up.

Title: list of cases please?
I'm thinking of getting this mug BUT I'm such a nerd (and work in legal) that I'd like to know what all of the cases listed are. Can someone let me know? I'd hate to rock it at work with a case that our cause lost...

Title: Love it! Great gift.
Got this for my husband for Christmas and we talk about it every time he uses it. Be careful not to put these in the dishwasher, scrub the outside too hard, or soak in hot, hot water.
